My 9 month check up

We took Brock for his 9 month check with Dr. Joe. As usual he was happy to pose for a picture on the big boy scale. He weighed in at 26 pounds and 32 inches. (his height is still off the charts and his weight is in the 98 percentile) He is a very happy and healthy baby. We are glad that there are no shots this month only progress of his growth. My son is loving food. I am not really surprised though, that's a family trait. I have a hard time of letting him get messy. I feel like I have to bathe him 3 times a day with food all over his face, his clothes, his chair, the floor. He loves his fruits and vegetables and today I gave him chicken noodle soup to try. I love the silly faces he makes while he is eating.

Resort Camping in Oxnard

We planned an overnight trip with the Lineberrys to the Mandalay Beach in Oxnard, in lieu of going on our camping trip to Carpinteria State Beach. I was still a little apprehensive about camping with the cold nights. We stayed at the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach & Resort. Upon our arrival Scott somehow got us upgraded from 2 rooms to the Presidential Suite. The suite had 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It was bigger than our apartment. I am not sure how he did it he said the clerk just gave it to him for no additional cost. I decided not to ask to many questions and just enjoy it. Each room was equipped with big flat screen TV's.

We did a little hike at the Carpinteria Bluffs. Steve researched and found a little hot dog vendor and they enjoyed the famous Dodger Dog. We then headed to Foster Freeze for ice cream. We scouted the camp grounds for good camp sites for future use.




We took Brock into the pool for the first time. I thought that he would love it because he loves his bath and kicking around. Here he is sitting on the first step of the heated pool.



Crystal & I had so much fun playing with Brock while daddy took pictures. I was jealous Steve was lounging in the sun with not a care in the world. Their baby girl is due in September. They soon get to join the sleepy/tired club. After the pool Brock took the longest nap. I think we wore him out. We had a great little get-a-way. The weather was beautiful. Happy Birthday Crystal!!

Happy Easter

On the saturday before Easter we have a family tradition of going to the park to have lunch and go on a Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was not so good so at the last minute we changed the venue to Richard and Julie's house. We played fun games as the kids and even some adults race across the lawn. Richard gave a great Easter lesson too.

VEGAS$$ BABY

We spent a few days in Las Vegas and we went to lunch at the Top of the World Restaurant located at the top of the Stratosphere. It is 107 stories high. I was really nervous the whole time. The views of the Las Vegas were spectacular.

In the NASCAR restaurant this man was attempting to eat a "6 pound" burrito in a hour. He was giving the camera a thumbs up. We did not stick around to see if he completed it. Gross!!! Way to much burrito

Alan Jackson Concert

This past week-end we planned a trip up to Utah for Conference. We made a pit stop at State Line and my dear husband watched the baby while I went to the Alan Jackson concert by myself. He was really great to see live. It's been years since I have listened to his music but I had to laugh that I still knew all the words. Due to bad weather we decided to stay in Las Vegas. We stayed with Dave and Jenn one night and then checked into our timeshare on Sunday. The DVR finally was put to good use and we taped Conference

I'm not a huge country fan by any means but he is one of my favorite's. I will say that the audience was more of the "silver fox" crowd. I'm not sure if that was just his following or because it was a State Line which is just known for old people and the first spot to gamble from the California to Nevada border.
