Tending the Flock

My brother Bill and wife Olga took a much needed vacation and I helped by watching their 5 children at their house in Rancho Cucamonga. I give huge props to Olga for keeping a organized household. I felt like I barely had time to feed the kids and run them to basketball practices much less get anything else accomplished. The young boys played very well together and had fun taking baths in the master tub with jets. It was a HUGE mess with the bubble bath....bubbles forever. It was a fun week and not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. My mom took the kids to see Shrek 3 while Kiersten and I saw Letters to Juliet (so cute).

Grandma goes to Hawaii for a graduation

Grandma Epi leaves for Hawaii for a week and all hell breaks loose at my household. Brock came down with a fever this week that would wake him up with the "chills" it was so sad he was so miserable. That continued for 36 hours and then we went to see good old Dr. Joe who gave him clean bill of health and did x-rays of his chest to check for pneumonia. A $100 later with a co-pay, x-ray, and Rx and diagnosis is just a COLD, but of course while we are at the doctor his eye starts to swell up. Yep pink eye. Brock cries every time I put those darn drops in his eyes. Yep 6 loads of laundry later washing all the towels, blankets and bed linens. Then I was paranoid all week long excessively washing my hands. I didn't want to have pink eye.The fever was weird and came intermittent all week and finally stopped on Thursday. I felt closter phobia being in the house all day and poor my baby was just laying down watching his Barney falling asleep on and off. I was ready for Calgon to "take me away". Today we celebrated my niece Allison's 8th birthday at her house with a bunch of her friends. I can't believe what a beautiful young girl she is becoming. It was a beautiful gorgeous sunny day in California to celebrate a birthday. Tonight Scott's church mens softball team killed his brothers team 16-1. So I guess he will have bragging rights at least for a few weeks.

Shiners and haircuts

My sweet son fell off the chair and wound up giving himself a shiner. I was happy it happened on dad's watch. When I came home after the incident I saw a empty bottle on the counter. My first reaction was oh gross we weaned him off the bottle a few months ago so I thought it was a random old one found under a couch or bed. Nope to soothe the baby Scott pulled out the only bottle I had in the cupboard to make Brock feel better. I don't mind the occasional 3 p.m. bottle. I am way done and have no more patience for the 3 a.m. bottle feedings. It's hard to see in this picture but it did bruise up pretty good and he was attempting to climb back into that roller chair ( which is now in the garage) about a hour later. I took the baby with me to my hair appointment and let Shanna cut away at his hair. He held pretty still up until the last few minutes. He really wanted to get down and flirt with all the other stylist in the salon. He's becoming such a big boy in a few months he will be 2.

Happy Mother's Day & I am going to be a Aunt

Mother's Day was full day for us this year. We started off going to church which I think this may be the 2nd time I was there on time this year. Our new time has thrown me for a loop. The best news also came during Sacrament as I was released from being the Nursery leader. It will be even better when Brock will stay by himself without us there. He is really attached to his dad right now so i guess we will see. We headed over to Scott's mom and we BBQ. Of course his mom goes all out with the food. ( I thought this was to be a day off for her?) We celebrated our niece's birthday too. Sweet little Jennifer Rose turns 4 years old. After birthday celebrations we headed over to my moms house for a late dinner. I also found out that I am going to be a aunt again. My sister-n-law Tara is due November 18th. We are so happy to have our families expanding. We then headed over to my moms for a spaghetti dinner Scott prepared for us. It was a jammed packed day of fun which I think we ended up getting home at midnight. I love my mother so very much and hope everyone had a wonderful day.
Jenny about to blow her candles out. I thought it was great she said she wished that we could all go to Hawaii. Hint Hint Grandma and Grandpa...I don't know where that came from but it was really cute & random.
I have been wanting to get a bike and look what I got for Mother's Day. I was really surprised and it was very unexpected. I must say Scott is good at keeping secrets...hmmmm! I love my new bike and can't wait to take it out.
