Pirates at the Beach?

Logan had the best 4th birthday while we were camping at the beach it deserved it's own post.  Julie 1st had the kids create Pirate hat's which they decorated and then went on their treasure hunt from campsite to campsite gathering different clues.  The final clue took them down to the beach where they dug up a pinata treasure chest.  The kids had so much fun!

Beach Camping with Cousins

We went camping with the cousins and friends at Carpinteria State Beach for the past week.  I am not the greatest camper and it's not so easy with a small toddler who you fear will touch the fire pit, walk in street, or venture off on the beach.  I rented a travel trailer from a local guy (fireman) who delivered the trailer right to our campsite and set everything up.  I found him off of Craiglist at the last minute last year.  He lives local so I am sure it is a good little side business he has going.  We shared a beachfront campsite with my brother Richards family.

Here is a picture of our campsite
I forget how dirty camping can be but at least we had a tub in the trailer to wash the babies.

Brock told me "I poo poo" and took off his diaper.  Actual truth be told there was no poo to be found he just wanted to run around naked in the campsite and play with his cousin Logan.

Scott would be truly offended if I did not make mention of his new tent he got at Sams Club called the "Instant Tent" by Coleman.  The poles are already connected to the tent so you literally just extend the poles and pop the tent is up in a minute or two.  I had to laugh that the box showed two women putting up the tent so it must be EASY and advertised easy to put up in the dark.  He loved his 6-8 man tent and slept and read most of the vacation.

Happy Father's Day

Today we went to the cemetery with my mom to visit my dad's grave.  Brock fell asleep on the car ride out there.  He loves this pink little dog that acts as a pillow.  My dad is buried in a section with other Veterans so there were many American Flags present.  Flags are the baby's latest obsession.  They sing "God Bless America"  in his Nursery class and march around with the flag.  He kept trying to take the flags off the graves.  The terrible two's are starting!

We took my dad some flowers and a avocado ( he loved avocados)
Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband.  He is such a good father to our son.  We love you daddy!

Mommy slams fingers in the CAR door

I went to pick up Brock from his Grandma Epi's house. I was loading all his stuff in the car and he was running and playing in the front yard with his grandparents and literally out of nowhere when I shut the door he had placed his little fingers at the door hinge. I saw two fingers get stuck and one nail do a 90 degree split so we immediately took him to Urgent Care. The doctor gave him 2 shots to numb the area and remove one of his nails. The other fell off about 10 days later. My poor baby was crying and I was crying I felt so bad. He had to wear his hand bandaged for a week in hopes that the cuticle would not grow too quick to the nail bed so a new nail would grow. He removed it at least 3 times a day. He kept showing everyone his "owie". So for now my kid has 2 fingers with no nails...gross!
