When I was much younger my grandmother used to give me $0.10 for every book I would read to her. From that point on I became a big fan of reading books. However, since marriage and motherhood, I have been less than diligent in reading anything but an US Weekly or (insert tabloid here). As I have learned over the years, you just have to make the time for things you really want. My niece, Kiersten, allowed me to borrow her Twilight book and, along with 4 other books I borrowed from my mother, I went on vacation last month and had plenty of time to relax and READ. I can honestly say that I had a great time reading all my books. I forgot how much I love to read. I forgot how much reading stimulates my mind and, most importantly, I forgot how much I missed just having time for ME. Being a new mom has been overwhelming at times and most days I put everyone else's needs above my own and reading is just so relaxing. Since the baby, I have crazy insomnia so I am hoping that this renewed interest in books will help me get to bed earlier. I just finished The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. I have made it a goal to read at least one new book a month. If you would like to recommend any books that would be wonderful. Now for the month of January, I became more than just a little obsessed with the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. I have read Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I am very proud of myself since each of these books is 500-600 pages long. My house may not be as clean as it should, but I read all of my books. I recently watched Twilight & New Moon on DVD and now anxiously look forward to the next movie release in June 2010. Sadly, Scott has ZERO interest in these books. Just so my blog readers know, I am Team Jacob. Thursday, January 28, 2010
