18 months and counting

We took Brock in for the 18 month check up and he now weighs 35 lbs and 37 inches tall. He sat very quietly during his exam until Dr. Joe pulled out the tongue depressor to check his mouth and he started to cry. Along with his immunizations we opted to get him a flu shot. Brock is becoming a little boy which is very exciting and very sad for me at the same time. Milestones notated at this point of his life are the following:
  • started walking at 15 months now he's running all over the house
  • loves to throw balls
  • loves to have books read to him and look at the pictures
  • loves to watch the The Fresh Beat Band
  • loves to climb over furniture or stand on chairs
  • still loves his bottle to get him through the night
  • favorite word is "dad"
  • he is very much a daddy's boy
  • very naughty while dining at restaurants by being loud and throwing food
  • loves to chase grandma Epi's cat
  • very good eater and tries all varieties of food
  • he loves bananas
  • loves the bath tub with bubbles
  • gave up his crib for the queen bed at 9 months
  • loves to listen to music and nursery rhymes

Happy Valentine's Day

In the spirit of giving my husband a compliment I am going to share story. In the past and long before I met Scott I really looked forward to Valentine's Day. It was the one day I knew my ex would be nice to me (pathetic I know). Not because of flowers, candy or nice dinners but just him being genuinely nice to me. Years of someone berating you can take a toll on you emotionally. For the sake of not ranting and returning to my compliment for Scott. I honestly do not need any holiday to celebrate our love or remind me what a great relationship I have with my husband. He shows me kindness on a daily basis. Flowers and nice dinner dates are just "icing on the cake". Happy Valentine's Day!
